Microsoft Putting Big Ad Money Behind Bing

Date: May 28, 2009, 7:51 PM

We just thought this was interesting. According to this article in AdAge, Microsoft is set to spend up to $100 million to promote its new search engine, Bing.

While this enormous expenditure is meant to put a dent in Google’s and Yahoo’s shares of the search market, Microsoft’s ads won’t directly attack either search engine. Instead they’ll try to show consumers that there are lot’s of things search engines could do that they don’t do now.

What do you think? What can your search engine do better? And will Microsoft’s $100M ad buy pay off?

  1. Interesting, looks good, but it’s going to be hard to compete against Google… guess we’ll see. :)
