New professional camera that will release into 2017

In our last article, we took a look at the best 360° VR professional cameras in the market. Since hardware is constantly evolving, let’s look to the future and take a peek at the cameras that are scheduled to be released later this year.

Also worth noting, at F8, the annual developer conference by Facebook, it was announced that they will release two different types of Facebook Surround 360: a larger version called X24 and a smaller, more portable version called X6.

As the name suggests, the X24 has a 24-camera setup laid out in an orb while the X6 has 6-cameras.

According to The Verge, the cameras will not be sold directly by Facebook.

These cameras capture video in 8K with six degrees of freedom (6DOF), which allows you to move your body all around so long as you’re wearing a VR headset with positional tracking, like the HTC Vive or Oculus.
