If you live in the Los Angeles area you should definitely stop by the 14th annual VisionFest put on by Filmmakers Alliance this Wednesday, October 19. The event includes the presentation of the “Nilsson Awards” which recognizes the best of filmmaking that has been overlooked by the mainstream indie community.
The Vision Award will also be presented to Christine Vachon at the event. Vachon has served as a producer on films such as “Boys Don’t Cry” and “I’m Not There”. The award is given to career filmmakers who inspire others in the industry through the excellence and artistry of their work. In the past the award has been given to Terry Gilliam, Kevin Smith and Alexander Payne.
A reel of short films will be shown at the event which will finish off with a rooftop part in downtown L.A.
