Doubt, fear, uncertainty… all horrible things we struggle with but hate to admit we do.
Just own them already.
Confidence is a beautiful thing, but over time we all experience fear in the face of uncertainty and we all deal with it in different ways. Some form alcohol habits, some take up drugs in their spare time; prostitutes, cocaine, casinos… if you name it, someone in Hollywood has done it.
Our feelings of insecurity can get the best of us and block the flow a project’s creative juices; they are cold, itchy… empty feelings that can convince our poor minds the whole world is against us and leave us feeling completely isolated. But we cannot stay in this place for long… we must continue on. We must trust.
Trust is a powerful tool against the forces of evil. It brings us out of our insecure minds and allows us to flow in other directions. Try to trust the people around you and resist the belief they’re out to harm you… and oh yeah when something fails, try again.
Keep in mind the following:
- You can actually do it.
- You are actually talented.
- The person you are trying to impress is only looking for your own belief in yourself… so find it.
- And of course… try again.
Give yourself room to breath… take the time to stay focused on your vision and whenever a project becomes too large to see your way around it, bring it down to size by believing you’ll get through it.
If you are ready for success, I believe it will come to you… but you must be ready. It is not the failure we fear, after all, it is the bright light of success that we run from.
