This is a cool concept:
While you are on your road trip this summer, there’s a Jones Soda RV out there somewhere, navigating highways and byways, just itching to get some cold Jones Soda in your hand, or put your photo on the bottle itself!
Far from a traditional approach to advertising, Jones is asking for people to share their road trip experiences via various social networks.
It’s called Roadtrip Jones
. The basic idea is that Jones Soda is in search of this summer’s best road trip photos. The top 10 winning photos will be printed on a national run on bottles of Jones Soda (approx. 30,000 bottles each).
Griffin Technology is collaborating on this and giving away 10 iTrips a week, plus a $500 shopping spree
Participation is easy.
All anyone needs to do is tag their photos (and videos) on Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and YouTube using the hashtag #roadtripjones
. They will search these sites using the hashtag and select winners from tagged photos. That’s it.
It sounds really cool, and a long way off from traditional advertising where people were told what to buy, and if told enough times, expected to buy it. It’s so much nicer directly to engage your customers.
