Our team at Zooppa is thrilled to announce our new partnership with The London International Documentary Festival! The LIDF is the UK’s largest independent documentary festival. Since 2007, the festival has worked to ensure that London is host to exciting, diverse, challenging and inspiring films from every corner of the globe. The festival is committed to providing the highest quality platform for international documentaries and their directors. It does this by working with globally recognized partners and venues, such as the British Museum, the Barbican Centre, and the TATE modern. It also provides a year-round program of screenings and other events.
We wanted to let our community of talented filmmakers know that the LIDF in association with the London Review of Books is calling for submissions. The call is open and international and all subject matter is considered. Both short and feature length films are accepted. The LIDF gladly welcomes first time and established filmmakers. Films must be produced after January 1st, 2010 and submitted by February 3rd, 2012.
We also love the LIDF’s emphasis on the mentoring and educating of young filmmakers. Since its inception the LIDF has been supportive emerging talent. For this reason the festival is launching a unique Mentor Scheme. The scheme will provide immediate consultancy benefits as well as long-term support and guidance. Those involved will be able to keep their projects visible on the LIDF web-site and will be invited to a Mentor Scheme get together at the festival where participants can present their proposals and work in progress, as well as mix and mingle with industry professionals
